“Connect” can be represented in many ways, literally and figuratively. I went for a little of both — the item on the table between these two people, and the concept of human connection.

It’s a parka that converts into a sleeping bag. Maria arranged for Eric to have one through a very generous donor in California — Eric’s home state. The coats are made by homeless women in Detroit through a not-for-profit, The Empowerment Plan, begun by Veronika Scott when she was 20.
